In the period March 28-29, 2024 in the city of Nessebar, within the framework of the project “Revitalized spaces in the world cultural value Nessebar Old Town – Ethnographic Museum”, financed under the “Cultural Entrepreneurship, Heritage and Cooperation” Program of the FM of the EEA 2014 – 2021, a scientific-practical conference was held under the title “Museology of the 21st century”, where the results achieved by the project were presented, and the challenges facing museum work in the present, placing the new museology in a wider context were discussed among a specialized audience context, the use of cultural heritage as a catalyst of local development, a field of interaction and a driver of the digitization process.
The conference was attended by representatives of the scientific circles and museum work from the region, school and student audiences and local residents. Part of the conference program included demonstrations and practical activities in the completely renovated and digitized Ethnographic Museum – Nessebar and conducting open history lessons in the Nessebar Archaeological Museum for children from schools with a concentration of vulnerable groups, with the aim of achieving better integration of children in the local and national community.
