The museum in Nessebar acquired a reproduction of a unique map of the ethnographic regions

A reproduction of a geographical map of Bulgaria, containing 144 needlewomen from all ethnographic regions, was acquired by the museum in Nessebar.

“We received the image as a donation from the patriot Prof. Ivan Gavrilov, who is not the first to make a gesture towards Nessebar,” commented Mayor Nikolay Dimitrov.

The reproduction has been added to the exhibits in the recently renovated Ethnographic Museum in the Old Town under the European program. Through it, visitors will get an idea of the needlework characteristic of the various ethnographic regions of Bulgaria.

The tapestry “Embroidered Geographical Map of Bulgaria” is the work of Prof. Ivan Gavrilov’s mother, the teacher Velichka Kamenova from the village of Gorna Kovachitsa in Chiprov.
