Nessebar is one of the 7 municipalities that will receive a grant under the “Cultural Entrepreneurship, Heritage and Cooperation” Program, financed through the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEF) 2014 – 2021 under Sub-Result 1.1 “Cultural Heritage , presented in revitalized, restored and renovated locations’.
The project that the Municipality of Nessebar will implement is “Revitalized spaces in the world cultural value Old Town of Nessebar – Ethnographic Museum”. It envisages the renovation of the spaces of the museum housed in the Moskoiani house – typical architecture for the Black Sea region from the late Renaissance period and the creation of a permanent exhibition through innovative means. The goal is to satisfy the need to improve the presentation of cultural heritage and promote cultural entrepreneurship in the town of Nessebar.
Within the framework of the project, ongoing repair of the building will be carried out – restoration and repair of doors and windows, repair of the roof, floors, walls, installations, with the aim of bringing a qualitative improvement to the exhibition spaces of the museum and expanding them by renovating unusable ones premises allowing the development of additional services and cultural products.
Specialized equipment and other elements will be delivered that will contribute to the development and attraction of new audiences – introducing interactive activities, ensuring greater visibility, two-way interaction between the visitor and the museum exhibit through audio, video, virtual reality, etc.
After the revitalization of the museum spaces, a permanent ethnographic exhibition will be created, which will attract a diverse audience through the innovative technologies introduced.
An administrative contract for the provision of non-grant financial assistance is to be signed, the approved amount being BGN 765,861.97, and the project implementation period will be 24 months.
